Incident Details:
"Mr. Connor-Price was awaken early in the morning to the sound of running water. Looking out the window Mr. Connor-Price noted a clear, sunny morning. Investigating the apartment, it was discovered, in the guest bedroom, that the ceiling light globe was full of water, and water was pouring from the ceiling in the en suite, evidently coming from the vacant apartment upstairs.
Alerting the superintendent, an investigation of the upstairs apartment revealed the toilets had been stolen without the water being turned off. Also, the light switch covers had all been removed and stacked neatly by the door."
This wasn't the work of your garden-variety thief. This had the hallmarks of an unusual criminal. Therefore, the police rounded up the unusual suspects.
Milburn Dripdry steals toothbrushes. Not new ones, rather ones that are hanging from the holder in bathrooms. If they are damp, so much the better.
Gudgie Flunk is a second-story burglar, usually oozing up drainpipes and, once inside, eats every scrap of food in the house.
Morton Lugg is a thief and a grifter. He has a penchant for stealing sources of illumination such as candles, flashlights, matchbooks, lamps, fireworks, lanterns, braziers, and Bunsen burners. At the top of his to-get list is a Rubens tube, which shows acoustic standing waves in a tube. He doesn't understand it, but he wants it.
Johan Penumbra, occasional nemesis to Morton Lugg, steals towels, washcloths, blankets, quilts, and assorted bed linen.
Nicky Drootin, who breaks into houses, takes something, but leaves something in return. So, not so much thievery as unauthorized swapping. Occasionally he leaves something more valuable than what he takes.
Angus Quirch takes medicine cabinets. Not the contents of them, which are usually left strewn about the room, but the actual cabinet.
